Somato Folding Reformer to Be Featured in "Formed by Us"

A Women in Design SF Showcase at SF Design Week 2025

San Francisco, CA, May 30, 2025-- Somato is proud to announce that its Folding Reformer will be featured in Formed by Us, an official SF Design Week 2025 showcase hosted by Women in Design SF in partnership with Gantri. The event highlights work from women, nonbinary, and gender-expansive designers across the Bay Area, each responding to this year’s festival theme: Reform.

The Somato Folding Reformer is the most compact, lightweight Pilates reformer on the market today. Folding to just 6" thick and weighing less than half of a traditional studio reformer, it stores under any bed, sofa, or in a closet-- bringing studio-quality movement into the home. But what truly sets Somato apart is what it makes possible: movement on your terms. A practice that doesn’t require a commute, expensive memberships, or perfect planning. Paired with a companion app for expert-led classes, Somato reflects a belief that wellness should be accessible, sustainable, and beautifully integrated into daily life. We didn’t just design a reformer. We reformed the experience.

Women in Design SF (WID SF)

Women in Design SF (WID SF) is a San Francisco Bay Area organization committed to advancing women and gender-expansive professionals in the field of design. What began as a local meetup for women in industrial design has grown into an international support network spanning industrial design, UX, visual design, and design operations. WID SF hosts events, mentorship programs, and showcases that spark honest conversations, foster collaboration, and drive meaningful change across the design industry.

Formed by Us will take place on Thursday, June 6, 2025, at Gantri HQ in San Francisco. The evening will include a designer Q&A, open exhibit, and opportunities for connection and community building.
